Some Words About LeAnn & Mark

LeAnn Thress Yerian grew up in Westerville and Ashville, OH. She was lucky enough to grow up near her grandmother in the rural country and go to the same school system for her entire youth. She attended Ohio University and studied Child Development and Early Childhood Education. She volunteered and mentored throughout her college career. Right after graduating she received her first teaching position in a second grade classroom in Galloway, OH. After getting her feet wet in the South Western School District, Mark decided to have them move together to Hamden, CT. There she taught a 4th/5th grade split classroom and co-directed an After School Program and then the next year a Preschool classroom. Again after getting her feet wet Mark asked her to join him in Chicago for another assignment. She happily accepted his offer and is now working in a Preschool classroom near their home.

Mark Frederick Grimm grew up in Bexley, OH, San Diego, CA, Sasebo Japan and Charleston, SC. He had the privilege of living in so many places because his father was in the Navy. He graduated from Bexley High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps soon after. His initial specialty was communications and had the opportunity to travel to Thailand, Japan, China and Korea. He was selected to become a U.S. Embassy guard and served at the American Embassy in Dakar, Senegal and the American Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany. After 5 ½ years as a Marine he left the service and went to The Ohio State University, where he studied criminology and international studies. After college he found a job that moved him first to New Haven, CT and then to Chicago, IL.
